Dr. Robert Eric Betzig, a research scientist working at the Janelia Research Campus in Ashburn , was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry on October 8, 2014. Dr. Betzig received the award, along with two other scientists - Stefan Hell of Max Planck and Stanford's William Moerner, for his work on a high resolution microscope that allows scientists to look at cells and molecules smaller than 0.2 micrometers. When asked what it was like to get the call with the news he said, "It's like being hit by a bus," he said. "You're just kind of going along your merry way in life...And then this unforeseen event [happens.]" Congratulations Dr. Contact Marilee Murphy today for all of your home buying, or selling, luxury homes or new construction needs.
