The sleepy little town of Ashburn has been the center for growth in Loudoun County for the past two decades and is now one of the county’s largest areas. Many communities make up the Ashburn area including Ashburn Village, Ashburn Farm, Belmont Country Club, Broadlands and the developing communities of Brambleton and Loudoun Valley Estates.
Not only is Ashburn a hot spot for residents, as a technology center, it is increasingly becoming home to many national and international companies including, American Online, Verizon and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. The new One Loudoun center under construction at the intersection of Loudoun County Parkway and route 7 is a 360 acre development that will consist of a town center, school, park and 937 new homes. The town center will have 3 million square feet of upscale office space, fine dining, shopping, luxury hotel and a movie theater. It will also be home to the new World Trade Center Dulles Airport which is expected to generate up to 14,000 new jobs and serve to promote international trade and domestic investment from around the world.
There is plenty to do in Ashburn. Residents have all the amenities they have come to expect including recreation centers, swimming pools, fitness centers, playgrounds, tennis courts, basketball courts, playing fields and walking/running/biking trails.
Ashburn is home to the Washington Redskins Training Camp. Football fans can stop by Redskins Park to watch the team practice and possibly have an opportunity to talk with the coaches and players. Lawn chairs and coolers are welcome but no alcoholic beverages please.
Ice fans can enjoy the activities available at the Ashburn Ice House. Whether watching, skating or playing hockey there is always something fun to do.
Ashburn offers a wide variety of housing choices including condominiums, townhomes, villas, single family and estate homes and is conveniently located just west of route 28 with access to routes 28 and 7 and the Dulles Greenway.
