Brian and I had a great time at the Bluemont Fair on Sunday. Wonderful event and great weather. Really enjoyed seeing the Snickersville Academy (Bluemont’s first school and church—the 1825) and later used as a home of Susie Neal for 30 years. We got to talk with one of Susie Neal's grandsons who told us all about the history of the cabin and the restoration project that is underway.

The Board of Supervisors has found a way to pay for the construction of a small segment of Russell Branch Parkway, which has long stood as a barrier to completing the road from Loudoun County Parkway to Ashburn Road. Last week, supervisors amended a proffer to permit B.F. Saul, to make a $925,000 cash contribution to help extend Russell Branch from Ashburn Village Boulevard to Ashburn Road.
